Gary is a partner at Hanner Law Office and has practiced at the firm since 1981.
Gary has wide-ranging litigation experience. He served as Deputy Prosecutor of Parke County from 1981 until 1986. He currently serves as a Deputy Prosecutor in Parke County and handles Child Support Title IV-4 cases and Juvenile Delinquency cases. Additionally, Gary serves as the prosecutor representative on the Parke County Drug Court team.
Gary represents North Central Parke Community School Corporation and the South Vermillion Community School Corporation. He also represented Southwest Parke Community School Corporation from 1987 to 2014.
His practice areas include estate planning, estate administration, will and trust litigation, business matters, quiet title actions, personal injury cases, and other areas involving civil litigation. Gary also handles real estate matters including Tax Deeds, Quiet Title Actions, easements and Adverse Possession cases.
Gary has always been involved in community affairs, serving on the Board of Directors for Billie Creek Village, Inc., and as its President from 1988 through 2005. He was a part of the founding Board of Directors for the Parke County Community Foundation and served in that role from 1993 until 1999. and served on the Gifting Committee for the Parke County Community Foundation. He served on the Rockville Economic Development Commission and the Rockville Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee.
Gary is married to Mary Collings and they have two children, Brooks and Abigail. Brooks is an attorney in Washington D.C. and is employed as Assistant General Counsel for the U.S. House of Representatives. He is a fourth generation attorney. Abigail is employed with the architectural firm of Jones Petrie Rafinski in South Bend, Indiana and is a talented artist.
